These imports were supplied by 364 foreign exporters to 288 Indian buyers, reflecting a growth rate of 31% compared to the previous year. Notably, in February 2024 alone, India imported 703 shipments of stationery items, marking a significant year-on-year growth of 138% compared to February 2023 and an 8% sequential increase from January 2024. This substantial rise in imports highlights the growing demand for stationery items in the Indian market.

Globally, the top three importers of Stationery Items are United States , India, and United Kingdom. United States leads the world in Stationery Items imports with 69,453 shipments, followed by India with 28,904 shipments, and United Kingdom taking the third spot with 17,954 shipments.

India is the world's second-largest importer of stationery items, sourcing most of its supplies from China, Japan, and the United States. Leading the list of global importers is the United States, with 178,637 shipments, followed by India with 109,542 shipments. The United Kingdom ranks third, importing 25,014 shipments. This highlights India's significant role in the global stationery market.
